Sanchez to Rabobank

Luis Leon Sanchez has announced he will be leaving Caisse d'Epargne (will be named Movistar next season) to join the Rabobank squad for the next 2 years. What it Means:

For Sanchez: I'm not quite sure whether this was a good move. He was the team leader with CdE, while he will probably take a back seat to or at least share leadership with Gesink at Rabobank. On the flip side, however, he will probably be getting more support with Rabobank and the Dutch team has shown they can handle co-leaderships with Menchov and Gesink at this year's TdF.

For Rabobank: Nice pickup. Sanchez isn't the next great superstar in the cycling world but what can offer is a solid rider who has the potential to be a decent team leader and a major stage threat. He isn't necessarily a replacement for Menchov, but still a very solid signing by the Dutch team.

For Movistar: Ouch. Not a death blow but it certainly hurts whenever you lose your best rider. They will get along without him but he will be missed for a while.
