Burgos: Katusha Sets up Caruso

Team Katusha bested the team time trial to not only grab themselves the glory of the stage win but put their man Giampaolo Caruso into the General Classification lead. Katusha rode extremely well as a team, but were lead mainly by Filippo Pozzato and Vladmir Karpets. Karpets, a GC contender himself, moved into 4th place just 14 seconds back while Pozzato climbed into the top 20, just 38 seconds behind. Katusha rode very powerfully, having the man up front do a nice hard shift of pacemaking before pulling away for the next rider. This gave them a 7 second advantage over 2nd place Liquigas and 11 seconds over Rabobank.

Tomorrow's stage has a flat run in to the finish, but there is a tricky little category 3 climb near the finish. Expect some attacks on the climb, and the question will be whether the field can catch them in time.
