Burgos: Fernandez Takes Opening Sprint

Koldo Fernandez took the opening sprint of the Vuelta a Burgos with a well-timed burst of speed to take down some of the stronger sprinters. He stayed with his teammates in the final kilometers to chase down a late attack group and then got himself in good position behind Team Sky's leadout. Nikolas Maes took 2nd and Romain Feillu rounded out the top 3. Fernandez will be wearing the leader's jersey also.

Stage 2 should be an interesting one, and certainly hard to predict. There are some early climbs and then it flattens out before ending in another smaller climb. I would predict that this one goes to a breakaway but one can never be sure.
