Can anyone defeat Philippe Gilbert in classics anymore? Gilbert continued his amazing form Thursday by easily taking the Giro Del Piemonte with a textbook attack in the final kilometer. He waited until the final few stragglers were about to be caught by the field, and then launched his attack and rode away. He raised his arms to celebrate his almost "too easy" victory, which was helped out by the morning breakaway. The group had gotten a significant advantage over Gilbert and the peloton before taking the wrong road (I can't believe it either). By the time officials finally realized the error, it was too late for the breakaway to catch up. Gilbert's form is best as its ever been, and he seems poised to take the year's final race Saturday at Lombardi.2. Leonardo Bertagnolli
3. Matti Breschel
