A Grand Tour stage is a prestigous honor that not many riders ever get the opportunity to experience, but sometimes it can just be the worst reminder of coming up short. Much like Andy Schleck on Tourmalet this July, Ezequiel Mosquera gave it everything he had on this last climb but was simply unable to shake GC leader Vincenzo Nibali from his wheel. Nibali finished at the same time, but Mosquera at least was able to get the stage as a symbol of his hard work. This all but locks it up for Nibali, who really has rode an incredible race for team Liquigas this year. Peter Velits struggled a little bit, but still rode well enough to keep his podium placing.Welcome to Chasing the Peloton Cycling
