Tour of Utah Preview

The Levi Leipheimer ShowThe Tour of Utah says that they are the toughest stage race in America, and they finally have a field to prove it. Headliner Levi Leipheimer agreed to participate in this year's race, and since then the popularity of the event has skyrocketed.
Leipheimer is the obvious favorite, and by far the strongest in the field. There is really not much to say except that this year's Tour of Utah has become the "Levi Leipheimer Show." If Leipheimer falters, there are a few other notable riders that can take the title.
George Hincapie- The USA national champion brings his BMC Racing team (strongest in the field) to Utah with intentions on proving he is still one of the best American riders in the world. The course really doesn't suit George, but he is still incredibly talented and should do well.
Thomas Rabou- He is a great climber, and the Rocky Mountains of Utah suit his style very well. His Team Type 1 squad is one of the stronger squads in the field and Rabou is certainly a contender for a top 5.
Francisco Mancebo- The defending champion is incredibly familiar with the terrain of Utah, and should once again be amonst consideration for the title.
Rory Sutherland- His United Healthcare squad is hungry for the podium at the Tour of Utah, and it should be noted that they intend to place him as far up as they can.
It should also be noted that there is a possibility that Olympic Nordic Combined medalist Billy Demong may be participating in the race, riding for Cole Sport team. It is still unknown to me as to whether or not he will be riding, but if he is, he will certainly be a fan favorite.
