Haimar Zubeldia started things off on the right foot at the Tour de L'Ain on a prologue that was so short it leads me to question why it was even included in the race at all. At only 3 km, the miniscule time gaps won't have any effect on the overall race, and personally I would have elected to give the riders another rest day. Nonetheless, Haimar Zubeldia got off to a good start with the stage win and will wear the leader's jersey tomorrow. Zubeldia is looking to keep it all the way through, as he is one of the GC favorites for the race. Wilco Kelderman and Laurent Mangel rounded out the podium, each finish with the same time as Zubeldia. (Zubeldia won by less than 1 second)Stage Results/General Classification

Tomorrow looks like a sprint, though there is one late climb that can disrupt the rhythm of the sprinters. I am pretty sure the field will get back together on the final flat stretch, but it is not a definite.
