Upstart squad Radioshack obviously wanted to skip over the whole growing phase for a team and skip right to the powerhouse. They did just that, purging Astana and other top teams to pick up a squad full of stars. Not one of these stars is brighter than cycling's biggest superstar of all time, Lance Armstrong.
Armstrong and his R8ioshack squad (a pun towards Armstrong's quest for his 8th Tour) will be the main focus for just about everyone throughout the weeks. To add to the hype, Lance recently announced via twitter that this year would be his last Tour de France. He is not the favorite, but he certainly has as good of a shot as anybody with the way he has been riding. He put together a great final time trial in his last event in Switzerland and says that he is ready for the tour. Lance may be the central objective of the team, but they do have a few solid backup plans.
Levi Leipheimer is also a great all around rider that could get a top 15 finish even if the team gives the majority of their support to Armstrong. Leipheimer could also potentially be the top backup if something were to happen to Armstrong.
Janez Brajkovic has been riding well recently also, and his nice methodical riding tempo can also make him a candidate for a high finish.
Andreas Kloden is perhaps Radioshack's biggest unknown, as he could finish anywhere from high top 10 to outside the top 50. He will be an interesting one to watch early to see what kind of start he gets.
Chris Horner is one of the best team oriented riders out there, and can be a crucial pace-setter as the field moves more into the mountains.Full Roster:
