Ivan Basso
This one's actually pretty simple. He was riding pretty well until he just cracked midway through the Pyrenees. He actually had one stage that ended so badly that he finished in the Grupetto, losing about half an hour in one huge chunk. Beyond that, he actually wasn't that bad (though he should have done much better.)Michael Rogers
Rogers had a lot of problems, but many of them stemmed from his simple lack of stamina. He was just unable to keep up with the leaders as the field moved into late-stage climbs, and his abilities significantly decreased as the race wore on. He just didn't train well enough, or wasn't in his best form.Bradley Wiggins
Wiggins actually rode right about where I expected him to be. After his incredible 4th place last year, he was expected to do even better this year. He simply did not have the miracle form that he had last year and therefore by default failed to meet everyone's expectations. That's pretty much all there is to it.
