This is what makes Milan-San Remo so unpredictable and famous. The grueling legnth, the tricky roads, and most importantly the potential for both a late attack or a bunch sprint.

There are not many climbs, but the ones that are present are quite famous. I'd expect the early breakaway to get caught before the field hits the Cipressa climb with 22 km to go. Usually, that climb is just used as a means to set up for the big one, the Poggio.

Someone will certainly launch an attack an attack over the top, but will they be able to hold off the charging sprinter teams on the descent.

Will all of the sprinters be in the peloton? No. But I can guarantee there will be quite a few and they will be ready to settle the race for themselves.

Here's a look at the Last 10 Finishes:

2010: Freire (Bunch Sprint)
2009: Cavendish (Bunch Sprint)
2008: Cancellara (Attack)
2007: Freire (Bunch Sprint)
2006: Pozzato (Attack)
2005: Petacchi (Bunch Sprint)
2004: Freire (Bunch Sprint)
2003: Bettini (Breakaway)
2002: Cipollini (Bunch Sprint)
2001: Zabel (Bunch Sprint)
